This lesson is designed to help you work on the sounds of the Dakota language and to increase your ability to hear and retain the sounds.
When you click on the circles below, you will hear
a Dakota word. (By the way, the Dakota words you hear are not words
for the numbers.) If you have completed the Sound
Games, "spell" the Dakota word you hear by pointing it out on
the Color Chart. (This version of the Sound-Color chart is not
animated so don't click on the chart.) Use a pen or your
finger to point out the sounds/words you hear. Don't worry about being
100% correct: The object here is to practice, not to master the game.
Please adjust your screen when working with the charts so that the entire charts are visible. The Sound/Color chart works best with a 256 color screen. If you have any problems with the charts, or else have questions, please feel free to email us: jim@dailypost.com)
